The Kamado Joe Big Joe I gives 2,835 sq cm of charcoal cooking space on a 61cm ceramic grill, smoking low and slow from 107°C (225°F) and searing at up to 400°C (750°F), in a cart with locking wheels.
It grills, smokes, roasts and bakes on a 61cm stainless steel grate. The two-tier Divide & Conquer system splits the cooking space into half-moon racks at different heights, so a roast and corn on the cob can cook on the upper tier while meat sears over the coals below, each at its own temperature.
The thick-walled ceramic body holds heat steadily, whether it's a long, low smoke or a high-heat sear. Airflow is set at the cast iron top vent, and the built-in thermometer shows the temperature without lifting the dome, so the heat stays in while it's adjusted. Ash drops into the patented slide-out ash drawer at the base, which pulls out for emptying.
The grill sits in a cart with locking wheels and folding side shelves in tough HDPE plastic for prep space. It is supplied with stainless steel cooking grates and an ash tool.
