The Kamado Joe Big Joe III is built for entertaining, with room to feed a feast. Its SloRoller insert turns it into a smoker, and three tiers of half-moon racks cook at different heights and temperatures at once.
It grills, smokes, roasts and bakes on a 61cm stainless steel grate, 2,843 sq cm in total, from 107°C (225°F) for low-and-slow cooks to 400°C (750°F), with searing heat from 260°C (500°F). The three-tier Divide & Conquer system puts half-moon racks at three heights, so a roast and corn on the cob can cook gently up top while meat sears over the coals below.
The SloRoller insert uses cyclonic airflow to control heat and smoke, turning the grill into a smoker for long, slow cooks. Charcoal sits in a stainless steel basket that separates leftover fuel from the ash, ready for the next cook. The Kontrol Tower top vent holds its setting as the dome opens and closes, the Air Lift hinge takes much of the weight out of the dome, and a double-thick wire mesh fibreglass seal closes it airtight. Ash clears through a slide-out drawer behind a sliding steel door in the base.
The grill sits in a heavy-duty powder-coated steel cart with a storage shelf and locking wheels, with folding aluminium side shelves and a handle. It is supplied with stainless steel cooking grates, a multi-panel ceramic firebox, a stainless steel latch, a built-in thermometer and an ash tool.
