The Kamado Joe Big Joe Series II smokes low and slow from 107°C (225°F) and sears at up to 400°C (750°F) across 2,843 sq cm, with an Air Lift hinge that takes much of the weight out of the dome.
It grills, smokes, roasts and bakes on a 61cm stainless steel grate, 2,843 sq cm in total. The two-tier Divide & Conquer system splits the cooking space into half-moon racks at different heights, so a roast and corn on the cob can cook on the upper tier while meat sears over the coals below, each at its own temperature.
The Kontrol Tower top vent holds its airflow setting whether the dome is open or shut, so checking the food doesn't knock the setting, and the Air Lift hinge stops the dome slamming shut. A double-thick wire mesh fibreglass seal closes the dome airtight, and a stainless steel latch locks it. Inside, a multi-panel ceramic firebox holds the charcoal, and the patented slide-out ash drawer clears the ash. The built-in thermometer shows the temperature without lifting the dome.
The grill sits in a cart on four castor wheels, with folding powder-coated steel side shelves and a handle. It is supplied with stainless steel cooking grates and an ash tool.
