The Napoleon NK14 is a 35.5cm (14-inch) portable charcoal kettle that brings proper charcoal grilling to picnics, campsites and days on the beach, with locking lid latches and a cool-touch carry handle.
Its porcelain-enamelled lid and bowl reflect the heat just like Napoleon's larger kettles, so food can be seared hot or slow-smoked low. The charcoal basket is divided in two: pile the coals on one side for direct searing, or keep them to the side for slower indirect cooking of chicken pieces or sausages. The cooking area is 968 sq cm, with room for up to nine burgers.
Adjustable top and bottom vents control the airflow and so the temperature, from smoking to high-heat grilling. The locking latches hold the lid to the bowl, so the whole kettle carries by its cool-touch handle, and the four-legged base stands steady on a picnic table or tailgate. The chrome-plated cooking grid wipes clean, and the steel ash catcher lifts out for emptying once the coals have cooled. Then the latches go back on, and the kettle is ready for the next trip.
